Anasazi Indians

Anasazi Indians

You guys seem to be doing really interesting work. I’m a beginning to study TRV, but probably know more of what is written about the Anasazi Indians. I’ve read much and hiked scores of miles to remote areas to see their ruins.

I’m wondering what the object of your Anasazi project is? There is significant speculation, but some very good theories about their disappearence. Most common is that they were absorbed by other area cultures as a result of drought and overuse of the areas resources. There are a couple less common theories, of which you might be aware.

Much less is known about other aspects of their lives. What was the purpose of the Chaco complex, why did they build an elaborate road system, what were their religious beliefs?

I would be interested in reading more about your project! Good luck.

Aloha Rogar,

The Anasazi work done so far has been limited to just two sites. The short term goal has been to determine the purpose of the sites and get general information about the folks that occupied them. I would like to get some continuity developed on resident population at the sites, Get a very good timeline fix, and then move forward or backward for events of consequence. But we must have a starting point. So at this time it is more of a survey activity for us. Once we make a bit of headway on the Time of occupancy then we will push on. Perhaps after you finish with your TRV studies you can donate some target time. Aloha Glenn
