Intent : having the mind or attention firmly directed or fixed; engrossed, strongly resolved

My intent at the start of the session is to make target contact, retrieve and record clear and accurate high quality data.

My intent is also to execute each protocol perfectly, which would include seeing when that is the protocol I am engaged in at that moment.

The level of intent you use when you are writing the words in the header, or drawing the lines will be the same level present when you look on blackboard or record a graphic representation of what you saw. If you do not care enough to be exact, you sub

will know. The reality of your intent is demonstrated by the precision of your protocols.

Have you ever known someone that whenever you tried to talk to then they were busy doing other things, and not paying attention, then afterwards they would miss quote you or turn your words into something completely different. That is how an undiscipli

ned primary relates to our sub… the primary is so busy.. already knowing everything so it does not listen well because it is busy editing, adding significance, and deciding what it is going to say next, which can and distort
things many times until they are unrecognizable from the original communication.

The protocols are an arbitrary structure, the purpose of which is to focus our intent and give us a vehicle to practice discipline. Verifiable targets give us proof, no excuses or justifications, how good is my communication with my sub, right now. It

is very
humbling when you think you got it and you find out you are out in the weeds and awesome when you are so caught up in collecting data that you don’t have a clue what the target is, but your data is right on. The ego goes crazy…LOL because it is being
retrained.
