Skeptics site as a learning opportunity

Skeptics site as a learning opportunity

Having read numerous criticisms of the skeptics web site, I would like to share my thoughts about my experiences at this site.

Being a reasonably consistent student of RV for about 10 months, I have to say that one thing about the skeptics page is that it presents its own sort of challenge to me as an RV student. One thing our instructor emphasizes is practice, practice, practice.I figure if I can get good at RVing boring skeptic targets, then I will be getting some real skills down.Even someone with no training will sometimes get visual flashes of interesting targets.I admit that these targets would be discouraging for new students, and for any level student, if they were the only ones being attempted, but as a different sort of challenge I feel they have their own worth.

Also another challenge is just getting to the target. I have spent some time now putting extra attention on learning how to get myself on target. When I tried a few of the targets on the skeptics page, there were whole new challenges to be found there in regards to getting through the internet, the skeptical mind field, possibly poor targeting methods or poor selection of targets.I learned about 3 new levels of awareness of the process of getting on target from the experience.

So I would like to thank the skeptics for the opportunity for new and different challenges to my slowly developing RV skills.
