Printing Presses / Kaneohe, Hawaii/ Photographic Timeline
First run of the afternoon edition of Honolulu Star-Bulletin Newspaper at its new facility in Kaneohe Thursday March 15, 2001 (Targeteer was present when photo was taken. Contact dick@hrvg.org for info about LAND, STRUCTURE, and collateral data.) This was near some beautiful green Hawaii mountains. The noise was constant- high pitch whine of machinery. Smells of machinery, ink, grease, industrial smell. The men were very busy and frustrated because the run was not going well. They had to keep stopping the machines and fixing them. The newsprint was moving thru the machines at an incredible rate, then being cut up and spit out as newspapers. |
