A remote viewing chat room

A remote viewing chat room

I hope I’m not out of place here but I would like to start a small chat room on the mIRC. All you need to do is go to the Undernet on the mIRC and then go to #Remote_Viewers chat room.

I will be there at 9 PM PST starting tonight (6PM Hawaii time).

This is a really informal chat room, I’m just doing this so those with mIRC if they want to drop by can do so. I’ll try to be in this room everynight at 9PM.

Everyone is welcome.

I’m not very good at the mIRC but it did come with my original internet provider (which means I have no idea how to download this :-))) )

Hope to see you there.

Hi JP..
I’ll join you there…
But 6 PM is a bit early. If you can stay up late we’ll probably drop by a bit later.

See you in chat

Dick

That’s fine…

Dick,

I really wasn’t sure when to make the appointed time. So I just picked anything. If you and others would like to drop by later, that’s good. I just wanted to get something started, this chat room is WAY overdue. It will be a good way to start practicing for perhaps a more formal chat room.

I hope everyone can make it, see you tonight!

Glenn,
Make sure you type in the name of the channel exactly as it looks.

Remote_Viewers

Don’t forget the _

I was there at 7PM your time, you should have seen me.

Can you give some more explicit instructions?

Type in the chat room name WHERE?

Can you access this from Netscape?

Or if I am using MacIRC what commands do I type in under connections to get there?

Dick,
Ok, when you get into the undernet, type in the status line (where you would type if you were talking to me in the channel), /join #Remote_Viewers

And you should wind up in the right channel. If that does not work then do this.

Type /whois JP

And you will find me where ever I am on the Undernet.

I hope this works. Glenn knows all about this, I first ran into him way back on the Undernet.

Back up please.
I don’t know how to get on undernet. Let’s say I’m a complete dummy and have to start from scratch with an irc program.

I have an IRC program that asks for these commmands:

NICKNAME:

USERNAME:

PASSWORD:

REAL NAME:

SERVER:

COMMANDS TO SEND CONNECT

(And below that I have another box that says:

INPUT:)

I can handle my own name and nickname…but I have no idea what to type in at which place to find undernet.

Thanks for your help.

Dick,

Ok let me see if I can help.

After you finish putting in all the info, name, nickname etc…

then where it says server you should try to put in undernet and see what happens.

You have a different set-up than I do.

After I type in all the info like nickname and stuff then click OK, all the server names pop up on my screen and then I choose one from the group of Undernet servers.

I’m not sure what system you have but um you should have a list of servers pop up somewhere.

Also can you get on to any channel what ever on the Undernet?

Sorry if this does not help you at all Dick, I know this is tough, I had it easy, the mIRC program came with my original provider and it was all set-up for me.

Also what nick name will you use once you are on?

I know Glenn used to use the nick, Rainfall, I hope he uses it again. It will be easier to find him that way, also he used to hang out in #tarot.

Ok back to you Dick, let me see, the user name you have to choose yourself, then the password is also all yours. Now lets see, the server, commands to send and input are strange to me. I don’t have those on my system. A window pops up with all the servers on it.

I wish Glenn could jump in here and help.

keep tring Dick and see if you can get in, also browse thru the help section if they have it, you will find the info you need there.

I hope this helps a little. I’m rooting for you. I know I’ll see you soon on the Undernet.

J.P.

Dick,

I copied my IP address use mine and see what happens.

209.179.26.230

Also, if there is a place that says, local host and IP address (if there is a box to check) check the local host box.

let’s see if this gets you anywhere.

I just need to know

1. The server
2. The Commands to send on connect

Okay I got in by doing this:

Server: sandiego.ca.us.undernet.org

port: 7777

Then typing in:

/join #Remote_Viewerschatroom

Sheesh… you know they make computers that let you do stuff by clicking on a command, not having to type in a bunch of DOS (antiquated) commands. :-)

Macintosh, you know.
